The
IEEE Bangalore Section in association with IETE Bangalore
Centre and IET,Bangalore Network (erstwhile IEE(UK)
Bangalore Chapter) is organizing an “International
Symposium on Measurements & Control in Robotics
(ISMCR-08)” during 04-06 Sept 08 at NIMHANS
Convention Centre, Bangalore.
ISMCR
is an event promoted by IMEKO( International Measurement
Federation - HQ at Hungary). The Technical Committee
of IMEKO has International Representation with Technical
Committee 17 (TC-17) dedicated for Measurement and
Control of Robotics. ISMCR-08 is the 18th Symposium
in the series and the last three events were organized
in Poland, Belgium and USA respectively.
The
Science and Technology of Robotics are advancing by
leaps & bounds as evidenced by the ever increasing
participation in ISMCR over the years. Application
of Robots is permeating in many fields other than
high skill/ high risk areas as it used to be. Robotics
is maturing into the ultimate domain of Science &
Technology ,due to developments in Nano technology,
Microelectronics, Sensors, Embedded Systems and advances
in Control engineering.
ISMCR-08
aims to provide a platform to share expertise and
current trends amongst international experts. The
Symposium intend to cover a broad spectrum ranging
from advanced conceptual and virtual design methodology,
sensors, actuators control systems and instrumentation,
measurements, mobile robotics and multi-agent robotic
applications. Robotic Fundamentals and Mechatronics
are to be covered to provide the state-of-the art.
Formation
of ‘Robotic Association of India’ is also
mooted as part of the scope of this event.
